I like to think of this car like those “before” pictures you see on the diet commercials that are hard to believe
When you see it, you’re like, “Come on…it didn’t really look like THAT to start out with!”

Hi: I wish you the best on your restoration. I have a 1967 and 1969 Deville Convertible and am working on both of them off and on. The real problem is that everything is so expensive now that you will have more tied up in the car than the car is worth. It is too bad the value of these cars didn’t keep up with the value of muscle cars. Anyway, good luck!
Thanks Gordon! Do you have any pics of your 1969 Deville Convertible?
You’re right about the costs. After I bought it I kept going back and forth about whether it would be worth it to fix it up. I figured I really didn’t buy it for the resale value, but more for the utility of having a cool convertible that could fit my family of 5
The black is outstanding. I have 2 restored 69 DeVille’s (convertible’s). One was in the same deplorable condition when I started and yes, spent much more than they’re worth but it’s worth it. That one I painted a Jaguar Flaminco Mica Red with Tomato correct leather interior but in the Fleetwood pattern, leopard top liner, Vogues, and the thick rocker chrome across the base of the car custom cut but that is the finishing touch! Tan convertible top. The other was an original Cotillion White with White top, White seats and red dash/carpet. so I repainted in the correct White, looks really GREAT, put the Fleetwood chrome rocker, gangster whites, Cad real wire wheels, RED top! Be creative! But can’t beat triple black…
Hi Gene, thanks for the comment! I’d love to see pictures of your DeVille’s!
I actually visited my car at the shop yesterday and saw a bit of progress. They’ve got the back seat out (more pinecones and mess under there) and they are going to be sanding and repainting the convertible top frame soon.
